How it works
Book your days
Reserve online or call. Tell us where you're staying, how many chairs, umbrella or Solbello, and the dates. We'll confirm your spot and the set-up time.
Walk out to it
Each morning your chairs and shade are standing on the sand at your spot, facing the water, before you get there. Bring a towel and a cold drink.
Leave it to us
When you head in for the evening, leave it. We take it down, and it's back in the morning. Nothing to carry, nothing to store at the rental.
Why people book it
Amelia Island's beaches are carry-on, carry-off: nothing can stay on the sand overnight. For a family that means two trips over the walkover with chairs, an umbrella, a cooler and a toddler, twice a day, every day. The set-up service removes the chairs and shade from that equation for about the cost of a lunch. It's the most-booked thing we do for weekly rentals, and it pairs with a bonfire in the evening and a cruiser to get there.
The gear
The chairs are Tommy Bahama beach chairs: cup holder, storage pouch, and they recline all the way back. The 7-foot Tommy Bahama umbrella with a sand anchor is the classic and plenty for two chairs. The 8-foot Solbello is a canopy that uses the wind instead of fighting it, so on the breezy days when umbrellas go cartwheeling down the beach, it stays put. If your week looks windy, pick the Solbello.
Questions about the set-up service
What is the beach set-up service?
You book Tommy Bahama chairs and shade for your dates, and each morning we carry them out, set them up at your spot on the sand before you arrive, and take them down each evening. You walk out with a towel and a drink and everything else is done.
How much does beach set-up cost on Amelia Island?
A flat $50 a day for two chairs and a 7-foot umbrella, or $60 a day for two chairs and an 8-foot Solbello wind shade. Extra chairs or umbrellas are $10 a day each. No tiers, no minimum beyond one day.
Where can you set up?
Anywhere on Amelia Island's public beaches we can reach, from Main Beach down to the south end. Tell us where you're staying and the nearest access, and we'll pick a spot within a short walk of it. The beaches are carry-on, carry-off, so we take it down every evening and bring it back every morning.
What time is it set up and taken down?
Set up by 9 AM unless you ask for a different time, taken down around 6 PM. If you want it out for sunrise or down late for sunset, say so when you book.
Do I need to be there?
No. We set it up before you arrive and take it down after you leave. Your spot will be marked so you can find it.
What if it rains?
If the day is a washout we'll call you in the morning, skip the set-up and you won't be charged for that day. Pop-up showers we leave to you; the umbrella works for rain too.
Can I add a bonfire?
November through April, yes. Book a bonfire for the same evening and we'll set it up near your spot with chairs for everyone, torches, a speaker and s'mores.
