How we handle your information.
Effective November 6, 2026. The short version: we collect only what we need to rent you gear and run the website, we don't sell it, and you can ask us about it any time.
Who we are

What we collect
When you reserve or rent. Your name, phone number, email address, the dates and items you rent, a delivery address if you choose delivery, and a credit card on file for the rental. We also take a signature on the rental agreement. Online reservations are made through aReservation, a booking service we use; the details you enter there are stored by aReservation under its own privacy policy and shared with us to fulfill your rental.
When you contact us. Whatever you send us by phone, email or message so we can answer you.
When you visit the website. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you view. We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and buttons people use; it sets cookies and reports visits to Google in aggregate. We don't see who you are from that data.
How we use it
To fulfill and manage your rental, including delivery and pick-up. To charge for the rental, late returns, or damage under the rental agreement. To answer your questions. To keep the website working and improve it. To send you a receipt or a reminder about your reservation. We don't send marketing email unless you ask for it, and you can stop it at any time by replying or emailing us.
Who we share it with
Service providers who help us run the business: aReservation for online bookings, our payment processor for card charges, Google for analytics, and our website host. Each uses your information only to provide its service to us. We'll also share information if the law requires it, for example to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our property or someone's safety. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
Cookies
The website uses a small number of cookies for analytics. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site works without them. The reservation page uses cookies set by aReservation to keep your booking in progress.
Photos
We sometimes take photos at the store and on the beach for our website and social media. We'll ask before using a photo in which you're clearly recognizable, and we'll take one down if you ask us to.
Children
Rentals are made by adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
How long we keep it
Rental records are kept for as long as we need them for accounting and tax purposes, generally seven years. Analytics data is kept according to Google's default retention. Messages are kept until they're no longer needed to help you.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we're not required to keep it. Email FletcherBeachStore@gmail.com or call (904) 310-6124 and we'll take care of it.
Security
Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we don't store full card numbers on our own systems. The website is served over HTTPS. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what we hold.
Changes
If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage for a while.
