Paddle out.
Surf it, ride it, or stand on it.
Surfboards for the adventurers, body boards for everyone else, and stand up paddle boards for calm mornings on the ocean or a glide along the Amelia River. Every board is cleaned and sanitized after each rental, and the gear comes with it: a leash with the surf and body boards, a paddle and safety gear with the SUPs.

Surfing Amelia Island
Main Beach and the stretch in front of the store pick up the most consistent waves on the island, best on an incoming tide with an east or northeast swell. It's a sandbar break, forgiving for beginners, and the water is warm from May through October. Fall usually brings the best surf of the year. Never surfed? Take a body board: it's the fastest way to catch waves and have fun on day one.
Where to paddle
Early mornings on the ocean are glassy and calm before the sea breeze picks up. For flat water any time of day, the Amelia River side of the island and Egan's Creek give you marsh, birds and the occasional dolphin. First time on a SUP? Start on your knees, then stand with feet shoulder-width apart around the carry handle and look at the horizon. Most people are up within five minutes.
Which board?
Learning to stand up on a wave: ask for a longer, wider surfboard; it floats more and paddles easier. Kids and anyone who wants easy fun in the shorebreak: a body board. A calm day and a wish to see the island from the water: a paddle board. We'll point you to the best spot for that day's conditions when you pick up.
Rentals and returns
4-hour rentals are pick-up only and come back within four hours. 1-day rentals come back before 5 PM the next day. Boards are cleaned and sanitized after every rental, and multi-day rentals can be delivered to where you're staying for the same price as pick-up.
Questions about this rental
How do 4-hour and 1-day rentals work?
A 4-hour rental is pick-up only and comes back within four hours, before we close at 7 PM. A 1-day rental comes back before 5 PM the next day, so you can keep it for the sunset and the sunrise.
Do you deliver to the Omni Amelia Island Resort and the Plantation?
Yes, every day. We deliver bikes, e-bikes, boards and chairs to the Omni hotel, the Ritz-Carlton, Summer Beach, and the villas and vacation rentals throughout Amelia Island Plantation on the south end of the island, and we pick everything up when you're done, for the same price as walking into the store. We have gate access, so there's nothing to arrange at the entrance: tell us where you're staying when you book and we'll call to set a delivery time. The Plantation's shaded bike paths and the beach along the resort are some of the best cruising on the island, so you can ride straight out of your door.
What comes with the board?
A leash with every surf and body board, and a paddle plus safety gear with every stand up paddle board. Wax is available in the store.
Is a paddle board hard to learn?
No. On flat water most people are standing within a few minutes. Start on your knees and stand up when you feel steady. An adult and a small child can share one board; two adults should each take their own.
Do you give surf lessons?
We don't run lessons ourselves, but we're happy to point you to local instructors and to the easiest spots for your first wave.
Do you deliver?
Yes. Bikes, e-bikes and boards are the same price picked up at the store or delivered to where you're staying on the island. Chair and shade combos have their own delivery and set-up-on-the-beach rates.
